Espresso Fizz Martini

Sam Bodger

A sparkling twist on the espresso martini. Standard soda makers can only carbonate plain water, but the OmniFizz's Fizz Infuser is built to handle coffee and alcohol without over-foaming, so the whole drink comes out fizzy rather than just topped up.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml vodka
  • 25 ml coffee liqueur
  • 25 ml cooled espresso (or strong cold brew)
  • 10 ml vanilla or sugar syrup
  • Coffee beans, to garnish

Method

  1. Shake the vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso and syrup hard with ice until well chilled.
  2. Strain into the Drinkmate bottle.
  3. Carbonate in short bursts, releasing pressure gently between each one, as coffee tends to foam more than water.
  4. Pour into a chilled coupe or martini glass and finish with three coffee beans.

Why it needs the OmniFizz: cold coffee foams up fast under pressure. The Fizz Infuser stops the foam from clogging the system, so this is a drink you cannot make in a machine designed only for water.
